The view from this hostel was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning sights of the ocean, mountains, and a well-known rock formation. The welcoming was warm and personal, with the landlord being extremely knowledgeable about the area and country. A major advantage was the opportunity to visit a nearby private property with thermal pools, where guests could relax and take in the incredible views.
The number of stairs in the hostel, which might be an issue for some guests. Additionally, there were reports of noisy neighbors who showed a lack of respect for others by being loud early in the morning.

As a nature lover, I stayed at Osar for 3 nights to explore the beautiful surroundings. The friendly staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The wooden rooms in the house, along with the shared kitchen and bathrooms, added a cozy touch to my stay. I appreciated the option to order food, even late at night. Although the walls were thin, the stunning view of the lake and the nearby beach where I spotted seals made up for it all.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Our stay at Osar was definitely worth the money. The cabins were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with a fantastic view of the landscape. The location was perfect, with a path leading down to the water where we saw seals. The staff, particularly the friendly and helpful man who checked us in, made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
The breakfast could have been better with a wider variety of options.

We got great value for our money with a beautiful room, stunning ocean and mountain views, and a warm welcome from the knowledgeable landlord. The location was perfect for nature lovers, and we even found a spot with private thermal pools nearby.
The only thing that could have made the morning meal better was if there had been more variety in the breakfast options.

osar was absolutely amazing! knutur went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, even though the hostel is normally closed this time of year. he made us delicious pizzas and provided breakfast essentials. the location is breathtakingly beautiful and secluded, with no other food options nearby. the wooden cottage we stayed in overlooked hunafjordur bay and the hostel is close to hvitserkur rock.
Basement kitchen was cold and not well furnished.
